India’s Bihar Kosi River Flood

The Kosi River in India has flooded for more than two weeks after moon rains in an area that is home to about 1.2 million people. People in the state of Bihar and Nepal are in great turmoil as the unpredictable river could overflow again. The river has declined over the paste few days, but the river can swell any day. Rescuers have moved 780,000 people in 900 villages, and there have only been 38 confirmed deaths although the toll could be much higher.

We pray for the safe rescue of people in danger and wish them a return to normal life. We hope that the Kosi river will not return to the highest levels seen in the past few months, and Bihar will soon have a chance to slowly return to normal life.
