Lunar Eclipse on December 21st Winter Solstice

2010 December Winter Solstice Lunar Eclipse will be on 21st December, 2010. The partial eclipse will begin at 06:32:17 UT and end 3½ hours later at 10:01:39 UT. For the first time since 1378, a total lunar eclipse of a full moon falls on the winter solstice. The total phase of the eclipse  will be visible across all of North and South America, as well as the northern and western part of Europe, and a small part of northeast Asia, including Korea and much of Japan. Totality will also be visible in its entirety from the North Island of New Zealand and Hawaii.
